Latin I:
Homework is to finish 5c, if you did not do it in class. Remember these verb endings:
    -o (curro, amo, volo) means I = subject (I run, I like, I want)
    -s (curris, amas) means you = subject (you run, you like)
    -t (currit, amat, vult) means he/she/it = subject (he runs, she likes, he wants)
   -nt (currunt, amant, volunt) means they = subject (they run, they like, they want)

    -re = infinitive
    amare = to like
    currere = to run
    ambulare = to walk

There is a QUIZ on Friday covering:
    the starred words on the chapter 5 vocabulary handout
    being able to find the direct object
     being able to tell what "nominative case" and "accusative case" means (part of today's warm up)

Latin II:
Homework is 19b on page 152.
Remember, EVERY verb ends in -it in the 3rd person singular and -erunt (with a macron over the e) in the third person plural, no matter what the conjugation.
If you don't know what the infinitive is, look in the glossary at the end of the book and skim the verbs beginning with that letter. You will find it!

Latin I:
Homework is to translate the story in chapter 5 to the bottom of the page. The story continues on the next page but we will work on that in class on Wed.

Latin II:
Homework is to finish the chapter 19 translation. Pay attention to verb tenses!! The first and last parts of the story are told in the perfect tense; the middle parts (the conversations) are primarily in the present tense.

Latin I:
We took a quiz today on Chapter 4. We will start Chapter 5 on Monday.
There is no homework over the weekend but I recommend spending 10-15 minutes going over any vocabulary you didn't know on the quiz.

Latin II:
We took a quiz today on Chapter 18. We will start Chapter 18 on Monday. We will also be studying the Four Heroes of Early Rome. No homework over the weekend.

Latin I:
There is no homework for Friday, as long as you finished handout 4j in class. There is a QUIZ on Friday on Chapter Four vocabulary. Click here for an on-line activity on quia.com. Once you're on quia, you can try other activities in the Chapter 4-5 folder.

You will also need to be able to distinguish between subjects and direct objects on the quiz.

Latin II:
There is no homework for Friday. There is a quiz on Friday on Chapter 18, covering vocabulary and forms of adjectives. here is a link to the quia.com page.

Latin I:
Homework is a handout (both sides). For more information about linking verbs and complements, look at pg. 8 in your textbook. Transitive and intransitive verbs are explained a) in the handout you received today and b) in the textbook in chapter 4.

Latin II:
Exercise 18c - all steps!! But, you only have to do # 1,3,4,6,8,10

Latin I:
We corrected the translation of chapter 4 and exercise 4a. We worked on subject endings vs. direct object endings for 3 families of Latin nouns:
